The RADI-THERM roof insulation is installed on top of the ceiling in the cavity of the roof space. This is done by accessing the roof through the manhole in the ceiling, and by rolling the material out over the ceiling boards, with the foil facing to the top.

The polyester fibre is a high-quality virgin fibre material that performs the function of a lofted insulation material – This retard the flow of thermal heat. The foil layer that acts as a vapour and thermal barrier reflects the heat from the roof that radiates into the house, 93% in total. This 93% reflection of heat was tested by the SABS material tests.

RADI-THERM is a virgin polyester fibre, the same material that’s used in bedding and clothing material. Polyester fibre has got a very high insulation value and is a non-irritant product. ENERGYWEB laminates this with an Aluminium foil lining, that ensures no moisture and dust can penetrate the insulation fibre.

This unique property of the combined fibre and foil faced insulation, places the RADI-THERM product in a complete category of its own, outperforming most other fibrous products that are unlaminated and available in the market. The combination with the bulk fibre ensures that it outperforms the normal foil faced products, like the foil bubble products.

The product has been put through very stringent testing by the SABS (the bureau of standards) and the CSIR fire lab and here by ensuring that you get the highest quality products available in the market for a very competitive price.

There is no set payback period for ceiling insulation. The reason for this is that depending on the amount of energy used by the air conditioners or heaters to get your house into the required comfort zone. This energy usage depends from household to household.

The biggest factor regarding roof insulation is that it gets your living area into a much more comfortable temperature experience. The roof insulation will, on average, result in your house being cooler in summer, between 5 and 10 degrees.

In winter the roof insulation will result that your house being warmer between 4 to 7 degrees Celsius. This results in a direct reduction of electrical energy requirement to get your house into a comfortable living temperature experience.
